COLUMBIA — Whatever had been ailing the offense of the Missouri softball team recently didn't make the trip with the team to Oklahoma City for its opening game of the Big 12 tournament.
The Tigers batted around in the first and second innings on their way to a 10-0 win over Oklahoma State in five innings on Saturday at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
No. 2-seeded Missouri will face third-seeded Baylor at 5 p.m. Saturday in the tournament semifinals. The Tigers swept the Bears during the regular season.
Missouri pitcher Chelsea Thomas was dominant for a second appearance in a row after struggling with a shoulder injury for more than a month. Thomas gave up three hits and had three strikeouts in four innings.
Lindsey Ubrun was 2-for-2 with four RBI after batting in the No.3-spot for the first time since March 6. The senior notched three of those RBI via a three-run home run in the first inning. Ubrun also scored three runs.
Centerfielder Rhea Taylor and first baseman Marla Schweisberger were also 2-for-2 at the plate.
Ubrun, Taylor and Schweisberger were named to the Big 12 All-Conference first team on Friday night along with pitcher Stacey Delaney.
Catcher Megan Christopher and pitcher Kristen Nottelman, who has also been used as a designated player this season, were named to the second team.
