LETTER: Access Arts wouldn't be what it is without Naoma Powell

The front-page story in today's Columbia Missourian (5-12-09) is seriously flawed due to the omission of Naoma Powell in the formation of Access Arts. In fact, Naoma Powell assumed the directorship of Access Arts in 1979 following the untimely death of Hurst John that same year. She continued in that role for a quarter of a century until her retirement in 2005. Access Arts would not exist today were it not for Naoma Powell.
