Police locate 81-year-old man who went missing

COLUMBIA — Police have located an 81-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease who went missing some time between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to 107 Parkway Drive when John Thomas Jones was reported as missing by his wife, the release said. Concerns arose because his family was not sure he would be able to find his way home, due to his disorder.

Jones was found at Dana Corporation on Lemone Industrial Drive with his vehicle also located nearby, according to the release. He was uninjured and has been returned to his residence by officers.
