ST. LOUIS — A former St. Louis police officer has admitted stealing and splitting $8,000 in drug-linked money with other officers.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that 34-year-old Leo Liston pleaded guilty Friday of misapplication of government funds and admitted taking the money from a beauty shop.

Liston resigned in April and is scheduled to be sentenced in July.

According to documents obtained by the newspaper, authorities said Liston and others found marijuana, a revolver and about $12,000 in cash at the shop.

The newspaper said the officers turned in the gun, the marijuana and about $4,000 and split the rest of the cash.
