Eureka's Teddy Jones leads at the Class 4 State Boys Golf Championship after shooting an even-par 72 in the first round Monday at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, but six golfers, including Hickman's Taylor Cox are tied for second with 73s.

Rockhurst leads the team competition at 300 with Chaminade in second seven strokes back and Francis Howell in third at 309.

Rock Bridge's Wilson Sunvold is in a seven-way tied for 11th after shooting a 75 and teammate Andrew McGinnis is in a seven-way tie for 18th with a 76.

"They're all kind of bunched up there," Rock Bridge coach Doug Daniels said by phone after the first round was completed.

Hickman and Rock Bridge did not qualify teams to the championship but several golfers made the tournament as individuals, including the Kewpies' Mike Wilson, who shot an 83 Monday, and teammate Tyler Daly, who shot an 85.
