Hickman junior Taylor Cox tied for first place Tuesday at the Class 4 State Boys Golf Championship in Springfield. Cox shot an even-par 72 at Rivercut Golf Course to finish with a 145 total and tie for the title with Rockhurst's Mike McGee.
Rock Bridge sophomore Wilson Sundvold also placed in the top 10, shooting a 74 on Tuesday for a 149 that tied him for eighth with Rolla's Christopher Martin.
Rockhurst won the team competition, building a seven stroke first-round lead over Chaminade into a 23-stroke victory at 593. Chaminade and Holt tied for second with 616s.
Hickman and Rock Bridge did not qualify teams to the championship but several golfers performed well after making the championship as individuals.
Rock Bridge's Andrew McGinnis totaled 160 at the two-day event to finish in a seven-way tie for 51st, and Hickman's Mike Wilson had a 162 to finish among nine tied for 63rd. Tyler Daly finished in a seven-way tie for 89th at 167.
