COLUMBIA — At around 4 p.m. Wednesday, a male driver in a yellow Saturn Sky hit the side of the rear end of a school bus after becoming airborne, Columbia Police Officer Allan Bell said.

According to Bell, the Saturn driver, heading north on Ashland Road after crossing its intersection with Caniff Circle, failed to notice the school bus backing up at the intersection to head north on Ashland.

The seven students aboard the bus were not injured, Bell said, and the driver and his passenger received minor injuries.
