ST. PETERS — A 29-year-old man has been critically burned following what authorities think was a methamphetamine-related explosion in a St. Charles County garage.

The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department said the explosion happened Tuesday morning near St. Peters.

Lt. Craig McGuire said a caller described an orange Dodge Charger driving away from the fire. The car was stopped in Chesterfield, where the driver was arrested. McGuire said the passenger was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved.
