ST. LOUIS — Missouri's largest public school district has its first case of swine flu.
St. Louis Public Schools said Thursday that officials became aware of the district's first confirmed case of swine flu the day before. The student became ill with flu-like symptoms on May 15 and has not been in class since.
The St. Louis Health Department says there's no need to close schools.
Officials are not releasing the student's name or age. The student is recovering and is expected to return to class next week, officials said.
Missouri has had 24 confirmed cases of swine flu, including a St. Louis County man who died Tuesday.
