ST. LOUIS — Supporters of gay marriage are planning a rally in St. Louis, but a court decision halfway across the country will determine if it's a celebration or a protest.
The rally sponsored by the pro-gay marriage group, Show Me No Hate is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, and will take place after the California Supreme Court hands down its decision in a series of lawsuits seeking to overturn Proposition 8. That was the measure California voters approved in November banning same-sex unions.
If the California court supports gay marriage, organizers say the St. Louis rally will be a celebration. If the court rejects gay marriage, it will be a protest.
