KANSAS CITY — Downtown Kansas City is rocking out.
Organizers of Rockfest said about 50,000 people are expected for the sold-out, one-day concert near the Liberty Memorial in Penn Valley Park.
Hotel and restaurant owners said they've been awaiting the hard-rock festival sponsored by radio station KQRC-FM, which claims it's the biggest one-day music festival in the country.
Buckcherry, Korn and Drowning Pool are among the 15 bands scheduled to perform.
Bob Edwards, 98.9's operations director and program director, said low prices and a convenient experience for fans has kept the annual concert growing strong.
