ST. GEORGE — A 2-year-old girl died in St. Louis County after a car carrying her and two relatives crashed and caught fire.

The accident Saturday in St. George also severely burned the 25-year-old woman who was driving the car. The woman was taken to a hospital for her burns. Her condition is not known.

St. Louis County police spokeswoman Tracy Panus said Sunday that the 2-year-old has been identified as Faith Miller of St. George.

The name of the injured woman has not been released.

Police have said that the woman was driving with her 3-year-old child and the 2-year-old relative when she thought she heard the older child choking. The woman struck a stop sign after turning to check on the child who was seated behind her, and the car caught fire.

The 3-year-old was not harmed.
