Boone County is expected to be under a flash flood watch from Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service forecasts the potential for periods of heavy rain beginning Tuesday evening from thunderstorms associated with a slow-moving cold front making its way across the region.
The flash-flood watch included much of central Missouri. The watch extended north to the Iowa line and into Kansas to the west.
