Former Missouri governor expecting second child

SPRINGFIELD — Former Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt and his wife, Melanie Blunt, are expecting their second child in January 2010.

The Blunts told the Springfield News-Leader they had not expected to have a second child but were happy after getting over the shock. Their son, William Branch, is 4.

Matt Blunt, a Republican, did not seek re-election in 2008 and now works for businesses across the country. He is an adviser for a Massachusetts equity firm, a consultant for a Washington lobby shop and serves on the board of directors for a California auto salvage company.

But the former governor hasn't ruled out running for office again. Melanie Blunt said that she thinks she misses politics more than the former governor.
