ORCHARD FARM — The body of a man who fell off his fishing boat in St. Charles County has been recovered.

Cpl. Lou Amighetti of the Missouri State Water Patrol identified the victim as 63-year-old Uriah Williams of Robertsville.

He was boating with his grandson and another man Monday afternoon when the boat hit a wake in the Dardenne Slough of the Mississippi River. Williams fell out, and the operator went in after him.

Amighetti said authorities dragged the slough and recovered his body around 4:10 p.m. about 100 feet downstream from Dardenne Island and about a half mile upstream from the Yacht Club of St. Louis.

Williams wasn't wearing a life jacket.
