COLUMBIA – Three teenagers were arrested Monday on suspicion of second-degree robbery in connection with an incident that occurred Saturday in a downtown parking garage, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

Police identified the three suspects from a video recording of the incident in the parking garage at 100 S. Tenth St., according to the release. The first suspect was apprehended at approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday outside the 200 block of North Providence Road. The others were located on North Providence Road near Ash Street.

Charles Williams III, 17, Lee Andre Barney, 19, and Walter Jones, 18, all gave incriminating statements when taken into custody, the release states. No bond has been set.

The arrests were made in response to an early Saturday morning incident in which several men assaulted 25-year-old Adam Taylor and stole his wallet as he was walking through the garage.

Two females were also detained by police Monday because the women said that they had been with the suspects when the robbery occurred. The two were released after questioning, the release states.

The other suspects have been identified but not yet located, the release states.
