JEFFERSON CITY — A former mid-Missouri man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in his wife's 2003 death.
Investigators have testified that Michael Yarnell admitted shoving his wife, Michelle "Angie" Yarnell, off the deck of their Morgan County home and then taking her body to the Lake of the Ozarks.
Angie Yarnell was 28 years old when she disappeared. Her body has never been found.
The 40-year-old Michael Yarnell was arrested by authorities in November 2008 in Biloxi, Miss. He was sentenced Monday in Laclede County, Mo., where his case had been moved on a change of venue.
Angie Yarnell's mother, Marianne Asher-Chapman, called the seven-year prison term "basically a slap on the wrist."
