ST. LOUIS — A suburban St. Louis podiatrist has been indicted after he was accused of billing the federal government for foot care on patients whose feet had been amputated.
Dr. David Quang Pham was arrested Friday on federal charges alleging he submitted bills to Medicare and Medicaid from 2002 to 2008 for care not provided, including for the amputee patients.
The 49-year-old Webster Groves podiatrist treats nursing home patients. He is accused of creating false treatment notes to show to suspicious federal investigators.
Pham was indicted Thursday in federal court in St. Louis on one count of health care fraud, one count of obstruction of a criminal investigation of health care offenses and 20 counts of making false statements.
No attorney is listed as representing him in online court records.
