COLUMBIA — Some Kansas City high school students are getting a chance to try out health care careers at an annual MU health professions summit.

Students from Cristo Rey High School are on campus through Wednesday. They are spending time at the university's medical and nursing schools as well as an Area Health Education Center. The students will practice giving physical exams and conducting patient transfers and other procedures.

The health summit is designed to increase diversity in the state's health care industry.
