JEFFERSON CITY — A Columbia-area state senator is running
robocalls urging his mid-Missouri constituents to lobby Gov. Jay Nixon
in support of a university cancer hospital.
The automated phone
calls from Republican Sen. Kurt Schaefer say he fears
Nixon is close to vetoing funding for the new hospital at the
University of Missouri-Columbia.
Schaefer said in an interview
Wednesday that his information comes from "several people in positions
to know" whom he trusts. But he declined to identify his sources.
