Finance board to vote on revised deal for Chiefs

JEFFERSON CITY — A state finance board is expected to approve a revised deal to bring the Kansas City Chiefs training camp back to Missouri.

The Missouri Development Finance Board was scheduled to meet Thursday to consider an updated incentive package for the Chiefs, who currently train at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

In December, the finance board approved $25 million in tax credits for the Chiefs, part of which would finance a training facility at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.

Gov. Jay Nixon's administration later raised concerns that the agreement signed by officials required the Chiefs to keep their camp in Missouri for only five years.

The revised document would require the Chiefs to train in Missouri for 10 years, including at least five years at Missouri Western State University.
