COLUMBIA– Heart of Missouri United Way executive director Connie Benton Wolfe filed for resignation today, after holding the position for less than one year.

Wolfe's resignation will take effect on July 10, after which she will travel to Iowa to begin work as vice president for advancement at Wesley Retirement Services.

Wolfe is a native of Iowa and previously worked for the United Way of Johnson County, Iowa, among other nonprofit organizations, according to past Missourian reports.

"Our organization has benefited from her time here," said L. Stephen Gaither, Heart of Missouri United Way president.

The Heart of Missouri board of directors has tasked the executive committee with finding a new executive director in the next few weeks, Gaither said.
