COLUMBIA —The UM System Board of Curators held a teleconference Friday morning to discuss how to approach Gov. Jay Nixon about the possibility of him vetoing House Bill 22.

During the teleconference, UM System President Gary Forsee said a number of the UM System's plans are linked to the bill being passed, including a new patient care center that would include the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.

Curators decided to send Nixon a statement through Forsee stressing the job creation aspect of the projects and the importance of higher education.
