FAYETTE — Roadblocks were set up around Fayette after an inmate escaped from the Howard County jail.

Sheriff Charlie Polson said 31-year-old Curtis Jones of New Franklin escaped during a shift change shortly after midnight Monday. Polson said Jones apparently jammed the lock on his cell door and then walked out.

Polson says Jones was last seen riding a bicycle near a Fayette grocery store. He's a white male, bald, 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds.
