COLUMBIA — MU suffered an increase in thefts from buildings throughout campus this past week, including the Arts and Science Building, Hulston Hall and the Agriculture Building.
Three thefts were reported on June 18 at Hulston Hall, the Agriculture Building and 510 S. Ninth Street, according to reports released by the MU Police Department. Another theft was reported in the Arts and Science Building on June 23, though the theft could have occurred between June 12 and June 23.
Police issued a memo to all university building coordinators to be vigilant. Purses, wallets and laptops are commonly targeted items, according to the memo. Generally these items are stolen between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
These incidents include theft of MU property, credit card theft and fraudulent credit card use. The thefts are believed to be related, according to the memo.
The MU Police Department asks that anybody with information about the thefts call their communications officer at 882-7202.
