ST. LOUIS — St. Louis public safety officials are preparing a heat-relief plan for weekend Cardinals games after the club said it was too late to reschedule them.

The city had asked the Cardinals to reschedule their weekend day games with the Minnesota Twins because of the searing heat. The St. Louis area is in the 10th day of temperatures in the 90s.

The Cardinals said it was too late to reschedule the games. So the city says the fire department will be at Busch Stadium to offer help.

The city has responded to 33 people suffering from heat-related symptoms during the hot spell.
