JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri public school teachers will be getting a bump in their minimum salary levels.
The minimum teacher's salary will rise to $24,000 for the 2009-2010 school year.
The $1,000 increase over last year marks the final step of a four-year, phase-in to raise the minimum teacher's salary from its previous base of $18,000.
The minimum salary for teacher's with a master's degree and at least 10 years of experience will also rise. For the 2009-2010 school year, that minimum salary will be $33,000. Before the start of the four-year increase, it had been set at $24,000.
