PrintCOLUMBIA — Columbia rolls out its annual Fourth of July celebration Saturday night with live music and fireworks at Memorial Stadium. The free, KMIZ/Channel 17-sponsored event has been ongoing for more than 50 years.
“ABC17 Fire in the Sky” features the The Norm Ruebling Band from 7 to 9 p.m. and the Missouri Symphony from 9 p.m. through the choreographed fireworks display.

- Despite brief rain delays, families from around mid-Missouri gathered to celebrate the Fourth of July at Columbia's Fire in the Sky event.
The stadium opens at 6:30 p.m. with fireworks beginning at about 9:30 p.m.
Parking is available around the stadium, at Hearnes Center and in the Maryland Avenue Garage.

ARROW ROCK
What: “Impromptu Parade” and fireworks display
When: 2 p.m. Saturday. The parade will be followed by music and games. A fireworks display will be at 9 p.m.
Where: The parade begins in front of the Old School House. The fireworks will be at the end of Main Street in downtown Arrow Rock.
Cost: Free.
ASHLAND
What: Fourth of July parade
When: 10 a.m. Saturday
Where: The parade will begin at the corner of East Liberty Lane and South Henry Clay Boulevard and continue east on Broadway and north on Main Street.
Cost: Free
CENTRALIA
What: Fireworks
When: Dusk on Saturday
Where: City Recreation Park, 921 E. Head St.
Cost: Free
FAYETTE
What: “The 2nd Annual Fayette’s Fun and Fabulous 4th and Fireworks” will feature food, live music, games, crafts, turtle and frog races, watermelon seed spitting contest, karaoke, free swimming, sand volleyball tournament and pony rides.
When: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Fireworks begin at dusk.
Where: Fayette City Park
Cost: Admission is free, but there will be food available to purchase and fundraising events for Relay for Life.
JEFFERSON CITY
What: “Salute to America,” a two-day holiday with food, carnivals, live music, parades, contests and fireworks
When: Friday and Saturday. Street activities will take place from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. The “Stand for Something” parade will take place at 6 p.m. Friday and will begin at the corner of McCarty and Monroe streets. The “Little Mr. and Miss Independence” contest will begin at 7 p.m. Friday. A fireworks display will begin at dusk on Saturday on the Capitol lawn.
Where: The state Capitol and surrounding areas, including High Street, Madison Street and Capitol Avenue.
Cost: Admission is free, but food and certain activities may cost extra.

ROCHEPORT
What: Barbecue and fireworks display
When: Outdoor wine garden opens at noon Saturday. A barbecue with live music starts at 4 p.m. with a fireworks display at 9 p.m.
Where: Les Bourgeois Vineyards
Cost: Fireworks show is free. Barbecue costs $10 per person.
STURGEON
What: Parade and street fair with games, food, music and a raffle
When: Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday; street fair runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Held near the Sturgeon Youth Center, 209 S. Turner St.
Cost: Free
