Missouri lawmaker pleads guilty to drunken driving

ST. LOUIS — A state lawmaker from St. Louis County has pleaded guilty to drunken driving and been placed on two years probation.

Michael Corcoran, a Democrat from St. Ann, was stopped in February by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for weaving and failing to signal while turning. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge and two traffic charges that carried a $250 fine.

He also was accused of refusing to take a blood-alcohol test, which can result in a driver's license revocation for one year. An administrative hearing concerning Corcoran's driving privileges is scheduled for Thursday.

The 46-year-old Corcoran was first elected to the state House in 2002.

Considering he plead guilty to the D.W.I. on the criminal side, the administrative hearing for his license revocation shouldn't take long.
