COLUMBIA — An audit by the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security has found that the Boone County Fire Protection District may have to pay $752,453 to FEMA, which funded the fire district's Task Force One operations and deployments from 2002-2007, according to a news release about the audit from the fire district. Both the Fire District and FEMA disagree with several of the audit's findings, according to the release.

The Missourian will have more on this story later today.
