COLUMBIA — Former MU football player John Stull pleaded guilty Monday to charges of first- and second-degree burglary and possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to five years in prison.
Stull, 21, was arrested in late February in connection with two burglaries that occurred on the same day. In the first, he was charged with entering a residence while the owners were asleep and stealing a five-gallon can of gasoline and a fishing tackle bag worth $150.
In the second, he was charged with taking $4,000 worth of items from a residence. The possession charge was from an incident in January 2008.
Stull has a criminal record that dates back to his earliest days with the MU football team. He was sentenced to two years' unsupervised probation after a February 2007 peace disturbance conviction and was arrested on suspicion of assault as a redshirt freshman in the fall of the same year.
In January, Stull was arrested on suspicion of excessive blood alcohol concentration. He pleaded guilty to the charge on Thursday.
