ST. LOUIS — Government officials and others are gathering in St. Louis to talk about better coordination between agencies that prepare for and respond to flooding.

An interagency levee task force scheduled an all-day meeting Tuesday at the St. Louis Hilton near Lambert Airport.

Officials of the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA and other agencies have been meeting as a task force. They're at work organizing a more permanent group to respond to floods in a region stretching from Wisconsin to the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.
