ST. LOUIS — Farm Aid, the longest-running benefit concert in the United States, will be held Oct. 4 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis County.
Farm Aid representatives posted some details on their Web site and were to provide additional information at a news conference at St. Louis' historic Soulard Farmers Market on Thursday.
Ticket pre-sales for Farm Aid members begin Friday with seats available to the general public starting on July 25.
Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise money for family farmers and draw attention to their plight.
Dave Matthews joined the Farm Aid Board of Directors in 2001.
Farm Aid has raised nearly $35 million to help keep family farmers on their land.
