Missouri church camp cleans after swine flu confirmed

GOLDEN— A Missouri camp where seven cases of swine flu were confirmed has undergone an intense cleaning in anticipation of 750 to 800 new kids arriving Monday.
The swine flu and strep throat cases prompted officials to send home hundreds of campers at Kids Across America a day early last week.

Since then, staff has wiped down surfaces in addition to using a time-released disinfectant in rooms.
Also, a Springfield company called Enviren volunteered to spray surfaces with its germ- and bacteria-killing Enviren Mist. The company also offered the camp an allotment of its hand lotion to further fight germs.
Executive Director Dana Thomas said he is asking groups bringing campers to conduct screenings before loading camp-bound buses. Youngsters with a fever of more than 100 degrees should stay home, he said.
