Kansas City to add 2 red-light cameras

KANSAS CITY — Kansas City plans to install two more red-light cameras.
Public Works Department officials expect to activate the cameras at two intersections along Interstate 435 by July 31.

The additional cameras at the intersections of I-435 and Wornall Road, and I-435 and 23rd street, would bring to 30 the number of active red-light safety cameras, which monitor 18 intersections around the city to catch vehicles running red lights.
Kansas City officials said they don't plan to expand the program anytime soon.
