COLUMBIA — The Columbia College men’s basketball team announced Tuesday it has signed St. Louis native Chad Thompson to a national letter of intent to play for the Cougars next season.
Thompson will join the Cougars as a senior transferring from Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. Chad spent his freshman and sophomore years at Moberly Area Community College before transferring to Campbell.
As a sophomore Thompson averaged 18 points, four rebounds and three assists per game. Chad was on the dean’s list at Campbell and was a National Honor Society student in High School.
“We are excited to have Chad join our basketball program,” Cougars coach Bob Burchard said in a realease. “He is a very experienced and skilled guard who we expect to make an immediate impact.”
