COLUMBIA — The Columbia Missouri National Education Association will host its second annual trivia night on Friday to raise money for college scholarships.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. in The Tiger Hotel ballroom, 23 S. Eighth St. Donated champagne and dessert will be free for participants.
After last year's event, the association was able to offer a $500 scholarship to one student from each of Columbia's three high schools, though no one from Douglass High School applied.
The organization will once again offer a single scholarship to each high school, but the amount depends on how much money the trivia event raises, said Susan McClintic, association president.
"It's the highlight of what we believe in: education for the kids," McClintic said.
Teams may consist of one to eight members. Registration may be made at the door or in advance with Laurie Spate-Smith, 443-2335 or 819-5684. The cost is $20 per person or $150 per table.
