JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Jay Nixon awarded grants to task forces in Missouri that fight cyber crime.
The task forces use police officers from local departments, sheriff's offices and the Missouri State Highway Patrol to investigate child pornography and other Internet-based crimes.
On Monday, Nixon toured the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force in Columbia and the SEMO Cyber Crimes Task Force in Poplar Bluff.
The governor also announced multi-jurisdictional cyber crime grants to police agencies across the state.
