A Columbia man who is part of a group of Americans, including at least three other Missouri students, is expected to return to the United States on Monday from Nigeria, where violence has left hundreds dead and choked off transportation routes.
Grato Ndunguru, a student at Lincoln University, called his wife Tuesday afternoon to say the group would fly on Wednesday to Abuja, where the U.S. embassy is located, and then to the U.S. on Monday, according to Robin Hubbard of Columbia. Hubbard has been in constant touch with Mary Ndunguru, Grato's wife.
