FARMINGTON — Five people have died in a head-one head-on crash in eastern Missouri's St. Francois County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 11:40 p.m. Saturday when a car apparently crossed the center line and collided with another car on Missouri Route OO just southeast of Farmington.
St. Francois County Coroner Jim Coplin said authorities found no skid marks at the crash site in an area surrounded by wooded farmland about 70 miles south of St. Louis. Coplin also says there were no witnesses to the accident late Saturday night.
The patrol identified the three victims in the car that was headed the wrong way as 59-year-old Bessie Barker of Farmington, 57-year-old Walter Barker of Farmington, and 60-year-old Norma Holloway of Arnold. They were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The occupants of the other car who died were identified as 46-year-old Yvonne Fulton and 48-year-old Gregory Fulton — both of Farmington. Both were taken to hospitals, where they were pronounced dead. The Fultons were returning from a prayer service.
