JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri State Library has received a $1 million grant to improve computers in the state's public libraries.
The grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is to be used for 590 public-use computers in 120 Missouri libraries.
The grant also includes money to buy printers, repair equipment and receive training on using the computers and software.
Libraries receiving the funds will provide matches totaling 25 percent of their grant money in the first year and 50 percent in the second year.
