COLUMBIA – Kickoff times for Missouri's football games with Bowling Green (Sept. 12) and Furman (Sept. 19) are set.
The Bowling Green game will kickoff at 6 p.m. and the Furman game will kick off at 1 p.m. Fox Sports Net will televise both games on a live, pay-per-view basis.
Neither game was selected for telecast as part of the Big 12 Conference television package, which meant that prior to this agreement, the only way for the Columbia market to see the game would have been in person.
In 2008, Mizzou and FSN partnered to televise the Tigers’ home opener against Southeast Missouri State, as well as a second home game against Nevada. The latter game was eventually moved to FSN’s weekly Big 12 package, as severe weather changed the broadcast schedule elsewhere that weekend.
With this announcement, each of Mizzou’s first five games of the 2009 season will now be televised – marking a program first. The season starts on ESPN against Illinois (Sept. 5), followed by the pair of PPV telecasts. After that, Mizzou travels to Nevada to play on ESPN (Sept. 25) and then is home on ESPN against Nebraska (Oct. 8).
FSN’s pay-per-view division will produce and distribute the telecasts. Additional information about pricing and how to purchase the telecasts, including a list of participating cable systems and satellite providers, will be announced leading up to the games.
