COLUMBIA – Missouri men's basketball signee Keith Dewitt has not been cleared through the NCAA Eligibility Center and will not enroll at the school, the athletic department announced in a release Friday.

The Tigers signed the 6-foot-10 Dewitt along with fellow forwards Tyler Stone and John Underwood and point guard Mike Dixon, the 2009 Missouri High School Player of the Year.

“It’s disappointing for Keith that he didn’t receive better news, but at the same time, we’re excited about the players we already have in our program,” coach Mike Anderson said. “We like the fit of our team and we are looking forward to another great season of Tiger Basketball.”

Missouri won a school-record 31 games during the 2008-09 season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight.

Missouri opens its 2009-10 season Nov. 6 with an exhibition contest against Truman State.
