COLUMBIA — A 67-year-old Columbia resident was taken to University Hospital with a non life-threatening wound in the upper stomach yesterday evening, Columbia Police Sgt. Timothy Moriarty said.
Ronnie Mcmillian was cleaning his handgun at his home on Green Meadows Road when he stood up and tripped over a rug. He fell against the wall and accidentally pulled the trigger of his loaded gun, hitting himself, Moriarty said.
Mcmillian is in good condition at the hospital.
