COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department’s Narcotics Unit arrested 13 people Friday morning during a “warrant round-up,” said Sgt. Brian Richenberger, supervisor of the Narcotics Unit. Three more people were arrested later in the day, after the round-up was officially concluded.
The arrests were made throughout Columbia and were all drug-related, Richenberger said.
The charges included drug possession, drug sales, drug trafficking and delivering an imitation controlled substance, according to a Police Department news release.
The police were still looking for five other people who were wanted in Friday morning's round-up, Richenberger said.
The charges resulted from investigations dating as far back as November 2006, in which sales to undercover officers and police informants were involved, according to the release.
