COLUMBIA — A car collided with a city bus near Providence Road Friday morning.
James Edwards, 19, was driving north on the outer road of Providence in a gold Chrysler Concorde. Around 7:36 a.m., Edwards pulled out in the path of a southbound city bus to go around a stopped car in the lane, Columbia Police Detective Jeff Westbrook said.
Willard Hambleton, the driver of the bus, was not injured. Two of the 16 passengers were treated on the scene for minor injuries, Westbrook said. Edwards was transported to University Hospital and was in good condition Friday afternoon.
A second bus picked up the passengers, and the site was cleared by 9:44 a.m. Columbia police are still investigating the crash.
