COLUMBIA — After a sloppy first half, the Missouri women’s soccer team picked up its intensity in the second half but was unable to rally against DePaul, losing 1-0 on Sunday.
DePaul’s Morgan Celaya sparked the game's only goal with a pass through the Tigers' defense to Shannon Williams, who broke away and scored on goalie Tasha Dittamore in the 24th minute of the game.
The Tigers (2-1-0) had nine shots on goal, seven of those shots came in the second half, but they were unable to break through. The second half also proved to be more physical. DePaul had 10 fouls and two yellow cards, and Missouri had eight fouls and one yellow card.
Senior Michelle Collins remained optimistic despite the loss.
“You win some and you lose some, and you learn more from every loss than you do from every win,” Collins said.
