CAPE GIRARDEAU — Plans are moving forward for new community college programs in Cape Girardeau.
The Southeast Missourian newspaper reports a coalition of business and education leaders will meet Sept. 24 to consider two proposals to expand offerings.
One option calls for a higher education center involving Southeast Missouri State University, Mineral Area College and the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. Another proposal would allow Three Rivers Community College to open a new learning center.
An advisory board could be appointed to determine where classes should be located and what degrees will be offered.
