Texas trial of convicted Missouri killer to restart

LUBBOCK, Texas — The trial of a Missouri man facing the death penalty for allegedly killing three people, including an expectant mother, in 2005 is set to restart.

A judge on Monday delayed the capital murder trial of Levi A. King to await DNA test results. It's unclear what the tests involved. A bailiff said the trial will begin Thursday.

King is accused of killing 35-year-old Michell Conrad, her 31-year-old husband Brian Conrad and 14-year-old son Zach Doan. They were found dead in their Texas Panhandle farmhouse near Pampa on Sept. 30, 2005. Michell Conrad was six months pregnant.

A judge moved the trial from Pampa to Lubbock over fears of prejudicial pretrial publicity.

Last year, King received consecutive life terms without parole in Missouri for killing two people. Those bodies were found the same day the bodies were found in the Conrads' home.
