Freshman shines as Hickman girls golf victory

COLUMBIA — Freshman Patricia DeCastro shot a 43 to help the Hickman girls golf team roll to a 184-247 victory Thursday against Sacred Heart. 

The Kewpies No. 1 golfer, senior Shelby Harper, shot a 46 to add to sophomore Hayli Meredith's 45 and junior Kayla Ragan's 50. 

The victory was the first for Hickman at L.A. Nickell Golf Course this season, after losing their previous match to rival Rock Bridge 173-182. 

The Kewpies, coached by Carol Kyd and assistant Clark Swisher, play their next match Monday at California (Mo.) Country Club.
